I have traditionally started it the Monday after the real NHL draft. I will consider Friday. I was just concerned if anyone would take vacation starting Labor Day weekend and go through the whole week on vacation. Thats why Monday made sense. I am open to whatever you guys want. Post that here as well. Monday, Sept. 12th is not set in stone. It was what I thought would work based on what I said in this post.

Glenn I was very clear pre draft that all rules and changes needed to be done prior to this dispersal draft. You can not under any circumstances change the cap now. GMs drafted based on what the cap was to change it now changes everything.
This is the exact type of thing that caused us to lose GMs. I already addressed being aware of these increases to cost and specifically asked if the cap or roster size would be increased and was told no

The free buyout is also in place to get guys below the cap. Teams might just have to release a decent player or 2.

I vote no cap change. As mentioned there is no penalty buyout of contracts this offseason and also players picked up during the dispersal draft can be kept at old contracts or resigned to new ones. So both of those will help teams stay under the cap.
I am flexible for the entry draft dates. The earlier the better for me.

I do not think cap should go up . When we were drafting players it was to fit the cap we had . There were plenty good players with cheap salaries or players that if you make new salary based on O rank will be cheaper .

My concerns;
Get Yahoo up and running.
Do we get 8 FREE cuts, or are ALL cuts w/o penalty (I don't think I've seen this).
If all cuts are w/o penalty; WHEN does this period end?
Definitely wait till AFTER Labor Day to start Prospect Draft.
many good points brought forward, can't change the salary nor team structure NOW, since people drafted one way or the other.

ALL player releases between now and Oct. 1st will be allowed with NO penalty.
Cap will remain at $295.
Entry Draft will start on Friday, September 9th at 6pm EDT. (Unless there are objections).
All teams need to be roster compliant (27 players on Yahoo. IR and IR+ players do not count towards the 27) by Oct. 4th. You are still allowed 3 NHL veterans in your minors, which does not apply towards the 27 yahoo players.
All teams must be cap compliant ($295 maximum) by Oct. 4th.

I had to wait for all 10 teams to be in the league. That happened yesterday. I will start the season later today. I have to go to work now.
