I can't find this in the rules. Is it winning bid based on $/yr, or total contract value? For example if Team A bids $5/1, can I bid $3/2 yrs and win? (This example is assuming the Orank allows for a $3/yr contract.)

I believe, that contract CANNOT go backwards in years, so once there are (for example) 3 years offered, it must stay at 3 years (or more).

I'm not sure about this example;
$4/3 = $12 $3/5 = $15
Honestly can say, I've never seen EITHER Salary nor Term "go down"; always up. But, best to get official response from Admin.

Different leagues do it differently so if not in rules like advised get the commish to state the rules and preferred to add them to rules for future.
If nothing is stated I would assume that the highest dollar amount wins. As example if nothing states no going backwards on years then I feel that
$21 / 1 year beats $10 / 2 years

Some leagues Even offer the original poster to bid “Match” to match someone that has outbid their original free agent threads that they have started. Those leagues usually have it in their rules stating so however. We are still waiting to hear the results here for this league on the matter

We don't match here - never have and never will.

Contracts can never go backwards. Increase years, dollars, or both with bids.

Can you clarify? For the Seguin bidding, the bid was $9 at 1yr. Next bid is $5 at 2 years. Does $5 at 2 years beat $9 at 1 year?

I know I mentioned this in the PM in regards to matching; but since two people were confused with two different issues, maybe include both notes in Rules.
